Welcome to Cerebra! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cerebra mobile application and services. By using Cerebra, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms#
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Cerebra mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Cerebra ("we," "us," or "our"), a company based in Accra, Ghana.
2. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer#

Cerebra uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate quizzes, flashcards, summaries, and other study materials from your documents. By using our service, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
AI Accuracy Limitations
- Not 100% Accurate: AI-generated content may contain factual errors, inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or incomplete information.
- Not a Substitute for Expert Knowledge: AI cannot replace human expertise, critical thinking, or professional judgment.
- Context Limitations: AI may misunderstand context, nuance, or specialized terminology in your documents.
- Hallucinations: AI may occasionally generate plausible-sounding but incorrect information ("AI hallucinations").
Your Responsibilities
- Verify Information: You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content for accuracy.
- Critical Thinking: Always apply critical thinking when using AI-generated study materials.
- Consult Authoritative Sources: Cross-reference generated content with textbooks, course materials, or expert sources.
- Use as a Study Aid Only: Treat Cerebra as a supplementary study tool, not as your primary or sole source of information.
Educational Context
- Exam Preparation: Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for exam preparation. Always review original course materials.
- Academic Integrity: Ensure your use of AI-generated materials complies with your institution's academic integrity policies.
- Instructor Guidance: When in doubt, consult your teacher, professor, or subject matter expert.
No Warranty on Content Accuracy
WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Specific Subject Limitations
AI-generated content may be particularly unreliable for:
- Complex mathematical proofs or calculations
- Medical, legal, or financial advice
- Current events or rapidly changing information
- Highly specialized or technical subjects
- Nuanced historical or cultural interpretations
Bottom Line: Cerebra is a powerful study aid powered by AI, but it's not perfect. Always verify important information and use your own judgment.
3. Service Description#
Cerebra is an AI-powered study companion that provides the following services:
- Convert documents (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, images, text files) into study materials
- Generate quizzes, flashcards, and summaries using AI
- Track study progress and performance
- Provide spaced repetition learning features
- Enable offline access to study materials (availability varies by subscription tier)
- Export content to various formats (Anki, PDF, PowerPoint)
- Provide analytics and insights on learning patterns
We use third-party AI providers including Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic Claude to process your documents and generate content.
4. Eligibility#
4.1 Age Requirements#
You must be at least 14 years old to use Cerebra. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
If you are between 14-15 years old, we recommend using Cerebra with parental knowledge and consent.
If we discover that a user is under 14 years old, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data.
4.2 Parental Consent#
If you are under 16 years old and located in a jurisdiction requiring parental consent (such as the European Union), you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use Cerebra.
5. Account Registration#
5.1 Account Creation#
To use Cerebra, you must create an account using:
- Google Sign-In: Authenticate using your Google account
- Apple Sign-In: Authenticate using your Apple ID
5.2 Account Security#
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
- Ensuring your account information is accurate and up-to-date
5.3 One Account Per User#
You may only create and maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent our policies or access limits is prohibited.
6. Subscription and Payment#
6.1 Subscription Tiers#
Cerebra offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and capabilities. The specific features, limitations, and benefits of each tier are displayed in the App before you subscribe.
Current pricing and feature details are displayed in the App Store and Google Play Store. Prices and features may vary by region and are subject to change. You will always see the current price and features before subscribing.
6.2 Payment Processing#
All payments are processed through:
- iOS: Apple App Store (subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions)
- Android: Google Play Store (subject to Google's Terms of Service)
We do not directly process or store your payment information. All billing is handled by Apple or Google.
6.3 Automatic Renewal#
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You will be charged through your App Store or Play Store account.
6.4 Cancellation#
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Cerebra → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Cerebra → Cancel Subscription
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to your subscribed tier's features until then.
6.5 Refunds#
Refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google, as they process all payments. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.
Refunds are subject to Apple's and Google's refund policies. Generally, refunds are available within 48 hours of purchase if you have not used the service.
6.6 Subscription Features and Limitations#
Different subscription tiers have different features, usage limits, and capabilities. These may include variations in:
- Number of AI generations allowed
- Content retention periods
- Presence or absence of advertisements
- Export and sharing options
- Offline access availability
- Access to advanced features
The specific features and limitations for each tier are clearly displayed in the App and at the point of subscription.
7. Acceptable Use Policy#
7.1 Permitted Use#
You may use Cerebra for:
- Personal study and educational purposes
- Creating study materials from your own documents or legally obtained content
- Sharing generated quizzes and flashcards for educational purposes
- Individual learning and skill development
7.2 Prohibited Use#
You may NOT use Cerebra to:
Strictly Prohibited Activities:
- Violate Copyright: Upload or process copyrighted materials without permission
- Academic Dishonesty: Use the service to cheat on exams, plagiarize, or violate academic integrity policies
- Distribute Pirated Content: Share or distribute copyrighted textbooks, course materials, or other protected content
- Circumvent Restrictions: Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscriptions, or access controls
- Reverse Engineer: Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App
- Automated Access: Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the service
- Resell or Redistribute: Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Cerebra or its content
- Harmful Content: Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene
- Malware: Upload files containing viruses, malware, or malicious code
- Impersonate: Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation
- Interfere with Service: Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
- Illegal Purposes: Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
7.3 Copyrighted Content#
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any documents. This includes:
- Your own notes and original content
- Content you have created or have rights to
- Publicly available content or content with appropriate licenses
- Content where you have obtained permission from the copyright holder
Do NOT upload: Pirated textbooks, unauthorized course materials, or any content you don't have rights to use.
7.4 Academic Integrity#
Cerebra is designed as a study aid, not a cheating tool. You agree to:
- Use Cerebra to enhance your learning, not to replace it
- Not use Cerebra during exams or assessments unless explicitly permitted
- Comply with your educational institution's academic integrity policies
- Not share or distribute AI-generated content as your own original work
7.5 Enforcement#
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against users who violate these Terms, including:
- Warning or suspending your account
- Terminating your account and access to the service
- Removing or deleting prohibited content
- Reporting illegal activities to law enforcement
- Taking legal action for damages
8. Intellectual Property Rights#
8.1 Cerebra's Intellectual Property#
The Cerebra App, including its design, features, code, trademarks, logos, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Cerebra and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without permission
8.2 Your Content Ownership#
You retain ownership of your uploaded documents and AI-generated content. Cerebra does not claim ownership of your materials.
8.3 License to Cerebra#
By uploading content to Cerebra, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Process your documents using AI to generate study materials
- Store your content on our servers
- Display your content back to you in the App
- Enable features like syncing across devices
We do NOT:
- Use your content to train AI models
- Share your content with other users (unless you choose to share it)
- Use your content for marketing or promotional purposes
- Sell or monetize your content
9. User Content#
9.1 Your Responsibility#
You are solely responsible for:
- The content you upload to Cerebra
- Ensuring you have the legal right to upload and process the content
- Compliance with copyright laws and intellectual property rights
- Any consequences arising from your content
9.2 Content Monitoring#
While we do not actively monitor user content, we reserve the right to:
- Review content if we receive a complaint or notice of violation
- Remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws
- Terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms
9.3 Copyright Infringement (DMCA)#
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Cerebra without authorization, please contact us at dev.richdodzi@gmail.com with:
- Description of the copyrighted work
- Location of the infringing material
- Your contact information
- Statement of good faith belief that use is unauthorized
- Statement that information is accurate and you are authorized to act
9.4 Sharing Your Content#
Cerebra allows you to share generated quizzes and flashcards via:
- Public links
- QR codes
- Social media
- Exported files
When you share content publicly, you understand that:
- Anyone with the link can access the shared content
- Shared content may be copied or redistributed by others
- You are responsible for what you choose to share
10. AI Services and Accuracy#
10.1 Third-Party AI Providers#
Cerebra uses the following third-party AI services:
- Google Gemini: Document analysis and content generation
- OpenAI (GPT models): Quiz and flashcard generation
- Anthropic Claude: Summary generation and content refinement
By using Cerebra, you acknowledge that your content will be processed by these third-party AI providers in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy#
We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or quality of AI-generated content. AI technology has limitations and may produce:
- Factually incorrect information
- Misinterpretations of source material
- Incomplete or partial information
- Biased or skewed perspectives
- Contextually inappropriate content
10.3 User Verification Required#
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You will review all AI-generated content for accuracy
- You will not rely solely on AI-generated content for important decisions
- You will verify information with authoritative sources
- You assume all risk associated with using AI-generated content
11. Disclaimers and Limitations#
11.1 "As Is" Service#
CEREBRA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
11.2 Not Professional Advice#
Cerebra does not provide:
- Medical, legal, financial, or professional advice
- Certified educational tutoring
- Guaranteed exam preparation
- Accredited courses or certifications
11.3 Service Availability#
We do not guarantee that:
- The service will be available at all times
- The service will be free of bugs or errors
- Any errors will be corrected
- The service will meet your specific requirements
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.
12. Limitation of Liability#
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CEREBRA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Academic consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated content
- Exam failures or poor grades related to use of the service
- Violations of academic integrity policies
- Copyright infringement by users
- Service interruptions or data loss
IN NO EVENT SHALL CEREBRA'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12.1 Indemnification#
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cerebra from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
- Your use of the service
- Content you upload or share
13. Termination#
13.1 Termination by You#
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Going to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App
- Emailing us at dev.richdodzi@gmail.com with subject "Account Deletion Request"
Upon termination:
- Your account will be deactivated immediately
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days
- You will lose access to all content and features
- Active subscriptions will be canceled (no refunds for partial periods)
13.2 Termination by Us#
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- You abuse the service or harm other users
- You are under 14 years old
- Required by law
13.3 Effect of Termination#
Upon termination:
- All licenses granted to you terminate immediately
- You must cease all use of the service
- Provisions that should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability) will continue to apply
14. Changes to Terms#
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- For material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification
- Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and delete your account.
15. Governing Law and Disputes#
15.1 Governing Law#
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.2 Dispute Resolution#
In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Cerebra:
- First, contact us at dev.richdodzi@gmail.com to attempt informal resolution
- If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or courts in Ghana
15.3 Class Action Waiver#
You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
16. Miscellaneous#
16.1 Entire Agreement#
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cerebra.
16.2 Severability#
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16.3 Waiver#
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
16.4 Assignment#
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
16.5 Third-Party Services#
The service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third parties.
